FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do you take writing commissions?

Currently, no. Between working on the Darren's Death book series and working a full time job, I have very little time to take on other projects. But possibly in the future I may open up to it! :)

How long does it take you to write a book?

For me, personally, it took around 4-5 years, but I blame a large part of that on writer's block. I got 4 chapters down, and left it on the shelf for years, then I met Anna and Rachel at Clexacon 2018 and I finished the book within the next 12 months. Everyone is different when it comes to gathering the momentum to write. It's tough work! I think it is just a rite of passage for every creator to hit a little roadblock, but it doesn't mean you should ever give up. I learned two lessons over the years: 1.) If it isn't a day for writing then don't write - it's that simple. You've gotta know when to step away from it to give your brain a break, it'll still be waiting for you when you return. So don't stress! 2.) Always carry a pocketbook with you, so if you ever get any cool ideas or quotes you can jot them down when they hit you fresh, rather than risk forgetting them by the end of the day!

Where did you get the inspiration for your story?

Everywhere! In life, in media, in history, in fantasy. I draw from it all. If I see something that moves me, I'll use it as a source of motivation. My imagination has stuck with me ever since I was a kid, it never leaves my side. I've always been very introverted, so I've spent a lot of time creating make-believe worlds in my head!

Can I get a refund?

Unfortunately, no. It is a non-refundable transaction.

Is the book available on paperback?

I'm trying like a bear to get paperback versions organized! It's all about finding the most cost-effective deal - it's a little trickier than I thought!
